Mission must be at the heart of the life of the church. Jesus declared, "I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18). His followers are the means by which that church is to be built, as he told them, "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). Among his final words to them were, "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem" (Acts 1:8). So mission must begin where we are.

Here in Goldington our aim must be to bring the gospel message to those among whom we live and work. There are several ways in which we are attempting to do this:

• The regular ministry of God’s word at our Sunday meetings
• Special services where there is a particular opportunity to invite those who might not normally come to church
• Outreach among young people through our weekly children’s clubs, annual Holiday Club and Camp
• Taking assemblies in local schools
• Personal witness among family, friends and neighbours
• Special courses for those wanting to learn about the faith, such as Christianity Explored.

But we cannot stop in our own locality. Jesus spoke of his disciples being his witnesses also "...in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8). The main Mission section gives further information about how we are seeking to support the work of the gospel beyond our immediate area.
