How to join

First of all - come along! Everyone is very welcome to come to our meetings, whether Sunday services or midweek meetings. If you have visited some of the other sections of the site, you will have learnt something about us, but the best thing to do is to meet us face to face.

Becoming a Christian, on the other hand, is not about meeting people or reading web pages! It is about knowing God - the one true living God who has shown himself to us in Jesus Christ. We hope and pray that through joining with our church to meet with God you too would come to know him, but the two things are not the same. So how can you become a Christian?

  • Firstly, God tells us the truth about himself, his world and ourselves. We know something about God from this world he has made, but we need his word to tell us about his goodness, justice and love. He also tells us we are accountable to him, guilty before him and that Jesus came to die in our place to pay the penalty for our wrong.
  • Secondly, in telling us about Jesus, God both commands and invites us individually to turn to him, confessing our wrongdoing, asking forgiveness, and putting our trust in Jesus to save us.
We hear God's word as we read the Bible, and especially as we hear the Bible message explained, which we aim to do regularly at our church. We also run special Christianity Explored courses from time to time where the Gospel message is explained in an informal setting, usually over a meal. If you want to know more, please Contact us.

With the help of God's Spirit, we can turn to God and trust in Jesus. As we do this we will find that God changes us inside, giving us the desire and the strength to live for Him. Our prayer is that through our witness as a church, you will come to know God yourself and join us - or another church - in worshipping God.
