Holiday Club

Each year, during the first week of the summer holidays, we run a holiday club for children who are moving into school years 1 to 8. This is held at Goldington Middle School, Haylands Way, Bedford from 10am to 12pm Monday to Friday with a games afternoon on Wednesday from 2 to 4pm, and an end of club buffet on the Friday evening.

HOLIDAY CLUB 2008 is called "Champion's Challenge", and will be from 21st till 25th July. In due course fliers will be produced with further information.

Holiday Club 2007 was called ‘Back to the Future’. Travelling with Dr Theo and his assistant Logy in their B.I.B.L.E. time machine we travelled back before the creation of the world. As we came back to the future we stopped off to see all kinds of events and meet all kinds of people who helped us to understand HIStory - God’s story - and how, because of Jesus, we can be part of HIS story too. Mixed in with our time-travelling adventures were group discussion, games, crafts, lots of singing, a games afternoon and our end of week Friday evening buffet to which many families came.

Holiday Club 2006 was called ‘Pyramid Rock’. The whole of the school’s main hall was transformed into a Pharaoh’s palace, with hieroglyphics and ornate drapes. There were pyramids and camels everywhere and that year we certainly had Egyptian-style weather!

As ever, we are grateful to Scripture Union for their ideas and resources.

These photos were taken at the 'Story Keepers' club run by the church a few years ago. Set in Ancient Rome, around 64 AD, 'Story Keepers' had the children learning about the underground network of Christians who worked to spread the stories of Jesus during the Emperor Nero's reign of persecution.
