From September 2004 to July 2006, we had our first Careforce Volunteer working with us at the church. Deborah Oluka was from Uganda, Africa and was involved in Bible-studies, youth work, visiting and counselling at a local pregnancy crisis centre.

For a few days in the middle of this period a small team from our church was able to visit Deborah's own church in Uganda, which was a very rewarding experience.

Then, from September 2006 for one year, we welcomed a new Careforce Volunteer, Lian Vanula from Manipur in NE India, who continued helping as Deborah had done. We valued Lian's time with us, and are pleased to learn that since returning home she has married and is about to start a family.
